Compared with its sibling 915Fd, the 915F has a slightly larger head and is designed to produce higher spin rates and launch angles.
Labeled with the slogan “distance without compromise”, Titleist claims great length, workability and forgiveness off the tee and the turf for the 915F. Also claimed is more distance and lower spin over the previous 913F models.

What are the features?
Active Recoil Channel
An “Active Recoil Channel” (a long, deep, wide channel) is positioned on the sole of the 915F close to the face.
The ARC allows the lower half of the clubface to flex at impact, whether from the tee or the turf, to increase ball speeds and reduce spin of thin shots.
Thin Face Insert
A high speed, constant thickness “ultra thin” face insert, made of high-strength Carpenter steel, increases ball speeds across the entire face, effectively increasing distance on off-center hits.
Low & Deep CG
A low and fairly deep center of gravity delivers a higher moment of inertia (MOI) — this results in more stability and ball speed preservation on off-center hits.
The CG on the 915F is slightly more rearward than on the 915Fd, and this contributes to a slightly higher launch angle and MOI.
SureFit Hosel
A “SureFit Tour” adjustable hosel allows you to independently adjust the loft and lie of the club.
Sixteen (16) available loft and lie combinations allow golfers to dial in their launch flight; loft and lie can be set to one of four positions each, 0.75° apart over a range of 2.25.

Titleist offers a number of premium stock shafts for the 915F including the Aldila Rogue Black 80, Mitsubishi Diamana D+ White 80, Mitsubishi Diamana S+ Blue 70, Mitsubishi Diamana M+ Red 60 and Mitsubishi Diamana M+ Red 50.

How does the fairway wood perform?
Distance
Distance results with the 915F are terrific once you dial in your ball flight with the adjustable SureFit Tour hosel and club shaft.
In fact, well-struck shots with the 915F can often end up within 10-20 yards of a driver ball. In this regard, the 915F can definitely compete with the longest woods currently on the market.
Lower spin and a hotter face translate to better distance overall compared with the previous 913F.
Forgiveness
The 915F is slightly more forgiving than the 915Fd due to the slightly larger head and higher MOI resulting from the more rearward CG.
Although you’re penalized for bad misses, the 915F turns out to be impressively forgiving for a players wood. It can even compete with many of the so-called game-improvement fairway metals out there.
Slight to moderate mis-hits (whether near the toe, heel, low or high on the face) retain a solid line and ball speed.
Playability & Trajectory
The 915F is praised by many for being relatively easy to hit and shape shots with from a wide variety of lies. In terms of trajectory, there shouldn’t be anything to be concerned about.
The 915F has a straight flight bias. Typical ball flights are mid to high and low-spinning (a recipe for distance), thanks in part to Titleist’s new ARC channel mentioned above.
The exact flight of the 915F will depend on the individual’s swing as well as the loft/lie settings and shaft.
Do be aware that, when trying to customize an optimum ball flight for yourself, it’s quite important to experiment with the loft/lie settings and also use a shaft that doesn’t work against your swing and your goals.
Once you take care of those things, there’s little doubt you’ll be very impressed with the performance.
What about look, sound & feel?
The Look
The 915F has a 175cc pear-shaped profile which should help inspire a little more confidence for mid and high handicappers.
Although the aesthetic design is a bit different from the usual of Titleist’s past offerings, it still manages to maintain the clean and classic red/white/black colour scheme look Titleist lovers have come to know and love.
The crown has a rich black finish and a prominent triangular alignment aid.
The sole features the Active Recoil Channel just behind the leading edge, a “three-pronged” layout with scattered labeling, and an adjustable weight near the center that may be used by Titleist (or anyone else who knows what they’re doing) for swing weighting and fitting purposes.
The Sound & Feel
Despite some structural changes in the head, feel at impact is wonderfully solid and soft: a satisfying combination that has traditionally been one of Titleist’s greatest strengths.
Sound at impact is crisp, not muted but not metallic or sharp either. Some would argue that sound and feel has actually improved since the 913F.
In addition, mis-hits feel quite stable with little twisting or vibrating.
As expected from a players fairway wood, feedback is accurate and distinct even when hitting through thicker rough.
